Unable to open PowerPoint attachment in Outlook 2010

Symptom:
You receive an email message that has an PowerPoint attachment (using Office 2010), when you open it, it keeps popping up an error message: "PowerPoint found an error that it can't correct. You should save presentations, quit, and then restart PowerPoint."

Then you have to go to Task Manager to end process POWERPNT.EXE.

Resolution:
This problem is due to a bug in PowerPoint 2010's Protected View handling.

To work around it, please do as the following:
1. Open up a fresh copy of PowerPoint 2010.
2. Click on the File tab.
3. On the left hand side choose "Options"
4. This will bring up the "PowerPoint Options" dialog.  On the left hand side click on "Trust Center."
5. There is a button there labeled "Trust Center Settings..."  Press that button.
6. This brings up a "Trust Center" dialog.  Along the left hand side select "Protected View."

Uncheck all Protected View options and click OK twice, then close PowerPoint. Now you can reopen PowerPoint attachment in Outlook.
